If Doctor Who Went to Hogwarts...

If the Doctor and his companions had gone to school at Hogwarts, which house would the sorting hat have put them in?

The Doctor
It's a tie between Gryffindor and Ravenclaw. Brilliant and clever, yet also bold and daring. Which do you think he would choose?

Rose
I think Rose is a great example of the good and loyal hearts of the Hufflepuffs. A case could also be made for her in Gryffindor, of course, but I think she really is a sweet Hufflepuff at heart.

Captain Jack
Gryffindor. Nuff said.

Martha
Ravenclaw. She's by far the most intellectual of the companions and definitely belongs here.

Donna
I don't think there is any doubt that Donna belongs in Gryffindor!

Amy
Even without the Weasley-red hair, Amy is obviously in Gryffindor.

Rory
Hufflepuff. How could you put him anywhere else? He's like Cedric Diggory's even more awesome brother.

River Song
Gryffindor seems the obvious choice, yet I think Ravenclaw has a hold on our River as well. And who knows what seeds of Slytherin we have yet to discover?

...and don't worry. It's obvious that Slytherin would have been the most populated house, what with the Master and the Daleks and all those Cybermen...

Haha, great post! I complete agree with the house assignments.

It's a tough call for the Doctor... I was going to say he'd choose Gryffindor, but he does love to run away a lot (and if I remember right, there were times where he described himself as a coward), but maybe the sorting hat would see through his self doubt and put him there anyway.

Rose does seem a little more of a hufflepuff than gryffindor... her mother, though: GRYFFINDOR! :)

Yeah, I think it's natural to want to put the Doctor in Gryffindor... but he's like the quintessential geek! So how can he not be in Ravenclaw? Oy.

Yep, Jackie would be Gryffindor. What about Mickey? I hadn't thought of him... hmmm... I feel like he starts out Hufflepuff but grows into Gryffindor.

Hi,

You're involved with the fairy tale novel forum, right? Because I’ve been waiting for an administrator to approve the account that I just started for a week now, and I was wondering if you could inform one of the administrators, just in case they forgot?

Thanks,
Kat

Humm... I guess it depends on whether the shorting hat goes by potential, or by the way they are when they're sorted. I think it must be potential, because Ron didn't seem very brave in the first book/movie. So that would put both the doctor and Micky in Gryffindor.

And yes, I could see the doctor in Ravenclaw (of course!). I was just thinking, compared to other time lords, we have no idea how smart he is (well, I don't- maybe they mentioned it and I missed it). It's certainly a close call.

It's just really werid to think of the doctor going to a school for 11 year old wizards. Personally I think that the doctor would never go even if it was real.

Oh, I think he'd be thrilled at the chance (at least to visit)! After all he's a big Harry Potter fan (The Shakespeare Code) and they wanted to do an episode with a guest appearance from Jo Rowlings but were unable to make it work. :(

I'd put the three most recent Doctors (who are the only ones I've seen, really) into different houses, actually. Nine would be Gryffindor (passionate, brave, chivalrous), Ten would be Ravenclaw (brilliant, geeky, a little quirky, witty), and Eleven in Hufflepuff (crazy, a child at heart). And I still put Rose in Gryffindor, even though your argument stands to reason.

Interesting point about the regenerations... I believe I was thinking mostly of ten when I wrote this, because obviously your classifications make a lot of sense. Combined with the earlier incarnations I think it would lean more heavily towards Ravenclaw, but how would the sorting hat manage someone who is constantly changing?
